OK...so, let's remember where my
kitchen WAS about four months ago.
Then, we tore down the wall.
And the other direction:
Now, look at it today! It's HUGE. I mean we had this dinky little dining room,
and a dinky little kitchen!
So, opening it up was a no-brainer!
(Notice how squished we were up against the
wall with our table, above).
There are a few things still needing to be done.
This is my updated buffet, with the matching cart (I painted that too and put a piece of remnant marble, as well).
where to put my utensils.
I'm trying out putting the trash can in here.
So far, not so bad!
Yep, it's an empty wall! This is the next project!
Here's a last look of before and after! It's amazing how much bigger my "tiny" kitchen is now!
There's still more...Lord willing I'll have that blank wall done by next week! And, I'll share what I did and how I did it, along with my other re-do of the kitchen cart.

Love the open space!
ReplyDeletelovely, Becky! is that gray paint on your walls? I want to paint my walls a shade of gray.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, I recently re-done my kitchen/dining room and used two shades of gray with white cabinets and absolutely love the clean polished look it gave the two rooms that opened up to be one larger room.
DeleteSarah - it isn't gray paint. It's got some gray in it but it's a beige-brown called "Colonial Cobblestone" from Dutch Boy. I had the avocado (now called Sage) counters and this brown had a good match with the colors.
ReplyDeleteBecky B.
It looks fabulous and SO very spacious!!!
ReplyDeleteBecky, it is gorgeous!!!! I love that you did the cart to match your gorgeous buffet! The black buffet and cart look awesome with the white cabinets! I love that! Can't wait to see what you do with the blank wall!!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband passed your blog along to me. What a lovely kitchen! What great improvements!
ReplyDeleteAmazing transformation. I love open spaces and it looks like you've got a killer plan in place. I love the paint color, too. I saw that you said it wasn't gray. What's brand/color is it?
ReplyDeletevisiting from Thrifty Decor Chick - this looks so good! You must be ecstatic with how it turned out. :)
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen looks great! I understand about trying to get things done and organized. I just did my kitchen and organized it while I had the doors off!! Love the black buffet and cart!
ReplyDeleteI am having a giveaway if you would like to enter!! Have a great week!
Looks GREAT!! Makes me want to do ours SOOO badly; but ours is an 1850 stone house, so I'm really limited. I'd love to open the kitchen and office up together, but it might be a supporting wall. You must LOVE your nice new big kitchen!!!
ReplyDeleteI guess my 1940s house isn't so old compared to yours! Wow! Thanks for the compliment!
ReplyDeleteStopping by via House of Grace! Nice job- such a transformation by knocking down that wall!

What a lot of work, but so worth it. It never makes sense to me to have two eating areas back-to-back. It is so much more efficient now with the open concept. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love it and Im digging the overhead storage. I think I see vintage green up there??
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. Its nice to have a new organizer friend! Tomorrow Im having my 3rd "totally organized tuesday" link party. Come and link up in the morning. :)
Hugs,
Toni
That is so SO much better! The open space is a WAY better idea. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great day.
Beth.
