If you thought I was obsessed with make up organization before, you might think I'm even more obsessed now! But, honestly, I wear my make up almost daily so it's important to me that I have it in order and organized.
I received a yard of pretty fabric at the Haven Conference from OnlineFabricStore and wanted to use it to help me get organized. Sound strange? Well, if you know me, I've used fabric before to organize!
Before, my make up organization drawer was fine, but I was using a desk organizer to keep it organized and I didn't like the black plastic any more. It wasn't me and it was clunkier than I wanted to be. I have to take out the whole thing and put on the top of my vanity - since the vanity drawer opens lower than my lap!
I took out the drawer and cleaned out any old make up and wiped the inside down. The middle of the drawer has a small piece that sticks up so it has made trying to paper it difficult. I took the cut fabric and simply used spray adhesive to hold it down.
Wow, it was so easy! I am TERRIBLE at using contact/shelf paper - are you? I LOVED using the fabric. Plus, if I want to replace it I can easily peel it up later on. I love the look of having shelf paper - which is probably best in the bathroom and kitchen - but in a bedroom drawer or some like this here, fabric works great!
I chose an acrylic drawer organizer from Target {similar to this one HERE} and it looks so pretty!
I don't need to have a ton of make up, so I cleared out anything unnecessary and kept only what I use daily or on special occasional.
I think it turned out really nice and it was a simple project. How do you organize your make up?
