Laundry may not be fun to you...it's just an "okay" chore for me. I don't hate it, but I don't think it's fun, either! However, it's WAY easier now that both my kids do their own laundry! Yep, in our home you start doing your own laundry at age ten - before that you have to fold all your clothes and put them away starting at age six. But, keeping the laundry room organized is essential to helping the family keep on top of the laundry. I've found 11 ways to get your laundry room organized - no matter if it's fancy or plain, like mine!
1. This isn't fancy or pretty, but it's a look at my laundry room from a few years ago. I have this shelf I purchased at Ikea, similar to THIS. I have my laundry detergent and vinegar {to soften clothes} in square beverage dispensers similar to these. I also keep my essentials in a small basket. For my information on what I use, go to this post about my laundry room organizing.
2. This is a great idea - which, I actually didn't see this until AFTER I painted the back of my pantry door {I totally didn't copy, I promise}. She painted the back of the laundry room door with chalkboard paint, then added an organizing rack, like this one, to organize all her laundry essentials. I LOVE the back of the door organizing!
3. I have a stainless steel cart I purchased from Ikea to use as a folding table, similar to this one.
4. This is another simple, but easy organizing idea using wire shelving {similar to this one} that can help keep baskets in reach for doing laundry.
5. My assistant showed off her laundry room a couple of years ago, using a simple Hanger Jack and some cute sliding baskets from Ikea.
6. I like this more modern laundry room that's inside a closet with the sleek Ikea shelving on the side! So organized!
7. A reader of mine sent me her pictures of her laundry room - isn't this pretty! Simple products like clear bins, and a place to hang clothes.
8. I like how this blogger took her washer and dryer and built a pedestal stand for them and then organized below with some bins!
9. Another organizer reader sent me her laundry room - which is HUGE, but we all have different spaces for laundry. But, she has such a great system in her laundry room. Go here to read more about it.
10. OK, this is both unique, practical, and CHEAP! She made drying racks out of an old play pen she got for free. Click on the picture to see how she did it.
11. And, last, I had another reader who shared her laundry hampers that she used cut vinyl to label them in her laundry room!
