Spring Cleaning the Easy Way

The Spring Cleaning Tips are all mine!

Spring Cleaning is one of those phrases that I tend to avoid. Well, cleaning is something I tend to avoid but spring cleaning seems sort of like a phrase that everyone is supposed to just do and that's that! If you've ever been in a "spring cleaning" kind of mood, it's your chance to really open your eyes and see your home in a fresh, new way!

I'd also like to note that a wonderful part of spring "cleaning" can and should include spring decluttering! When you start to look around your home, move things to clean behind, or open the blinds you may notice more than just dust and dirt.

THE STORY OF MY ONGOING WEIGHTLOSS JOURNEY

About 8 years ago, I lost 40 pounds - I guess it was "baby" weight but I was well passed that stage! I worked really hard, walked daily, used Weight Watchers to help me keep track of every little thing I ate, and felt amazing.

About 4 or 5 years ago, I began gaining back that weight. I hadn't changed my eating habits much and I was still working out. I was puzzled as to why I began gaining back my weight and started realizing my addiction to sugar and breads and thought that I needed to figure out a way to get that under control. Meanwhile, in the last 5 or 6 years, I have discovered all things natural, clean, organic, and wholesome! Our family now does as much clean living as possible.

Bathroom Cleaning Essentials

Of course, the one bathroom cleaning product I can't live without is Mrs. Meyer's tub & tile cleaner. I used to hate cleaning our tub and shower because the fumes from traditional cleaners always gave me a headache. At the same time, I'm not a fan of scrubbing, so I need a cleaner that really works. Mrs. Meyer’s tub & tile checks all the boxes! It works so well on our hard water buildup, plus it smells amazing.

Paired with effective natural cleaners, the right tools are a game changer for your bathroom cleaning. I never thought of sponges as a bathroom cleaning necessity until I started using these Grove Collaborative walnut scrubber sponges. The scouring side is made from crushed walnuts and is great for cleaning grout, while the soft side is perfect for wiping down sinks and shower glass. I always keep a couple of these in my cleaning kit.

Essential Kitchen Cleaning

Essential Kitchen Cleaning

I LOVE my new kitchen, but I'm going to be completely honest, it's more work to keep this kitchen clean than my old kitchen! I think it's a combo of surfaces that need cleaning, new pots and pans with different care, and the fact that I actually care that it looks spotless most of the time!

Five Natural Ways Your Family Can Keep Well This Season

Having a well-organized, well prepared home is key to me. It is a calming and relaxing thing, right? If you don't have that, the chaos can make you feel anxious and stressed. Well, I feel this way about the possibility of getting sick in this season, as well. We like to stay organized and prepared. One of those ways is through natural means and essential oils - we've been using essential oils for years now. And, we are rarely sick in our home, due in part to the use of essential oils and other natural ways. The best way is for us to naturally boost our immune system and to have the proper oil ready for us to do this. I want to share our family's five natural ways of keeping well.

Gardening Ideas for Earth Day

One of my favorite things to do is to be in my garden and get outside and just enjoy nature and soak up some sun. My mom has an amazing garden in her central coast home and so I probably have just grown up watching her tend to all her beautiful flowers and enjoy it too.

Gardening Ideas for Earth Day :: OrganizingMadeFun.com

In my southern California home, I've had to learn to adapt to our rather dry climate. We don't get a lot of rain. So, as I mentioned in my last post, we ripped out our front yard and never regretted doing that one bit! Today I wanted to share with you some of my past gardening I've done around here and abroad to inspire you. Plus, it's Earth Day, and why now celebrate with getting some earth under your fingernails? I am such a "nature" girl and love anything homeopathic, natural, and hollistic so it's fun to get outside and enjoy some gardening. So, I wanted to share some of my passed gardening posts with you to enjoy! It might get you some

Fighting the Drought in California - Grey Water

{More organizing posts coming soon, but I want to share
with you about a project we are working on in our home}

Having lived in California my whole life, I've learned the words "water conservation" and "drought" many times here. It's something I remember my parents talking to us kids about when I grew up in Northern California. I remember that we only flushed after going "number 2", otherwise, you just left it in there and flushed at the end of the day so we wouldn't waste water. We couldn't run the water while brushing our teeth. It didn't seem horrible - just being careful with water. Now I live in Southern California, where we have even less rain than Northern California, and a drier climate. This year, they are saying is the worst drought in recorded history in the state of California - which may not bother you, but guess what? You probably get a LOT of your food from California. So, our decision to "go native" and plant a drought tolerant front yard couldn't have come at a better time! But, we've recently discovered something else - grey water. Do you know what that is?

Being a Girl and Dealing with It!

So part of having an organized home is a home that is calm and relaxed. That's a big part of what I strive for when keeping things clutter free and organized. But, things aren't always so calm when Mom is having serious girl problems and is screaming or tense or a mess! Right?
