Spring Cleaning the Easy Way

The Spring Cleaning Tips are all mine!

Spring Cleaning is one of those phrases that I tend to avoid. Well, cleaning is something I tend to avoid but spring cleaning seems sort of like a phrase that everyone is supposed to just do and that's that! If you've ever been in a "spring cleaning" kind of mood, it's your chance to really open your eyes and see your home in a fresh, new way!

I'd also like to note that a wonderful part of spring "cleaning" can and should include spring decluttering! When you start to look around your home, move things to clean behind, or open the blinds you may notice more than just dust and dirt.

How Decluttering Can Pay Off, Literally!

Lately, I have been hit by the decluttering bug. And by hit, I mean HIT hard. I am pretty good about decluttering, honestly, but about once or twice a year I just start to go a little nuts around the house. Just ask my husband! What I do is I imagine that we are going to be moving across the country! I give myself a deadline - say 2 months - and I start going room by room through every closet, cupboard and shelf! I think about whether I've used the item in the last six months, or even a year. Why am I keeping it?

Getting Organized for Fire Prevention & Giveaway

This is a sponsored post on behalf of First Alert. All opinions are my own.

October is "Fire Prevention" month and I have been preparing for disasters now even more because of how many I have been watching all around our country. I have personally had family effected by the natural disasters and it has made me more aware of how lacking our household is in terms of preparation.

To be fair, the bathroom is not most fun place to clean, but a fresh bathroom is essential to a stress-free day. Fortunately, the right products and tools can make bathroom cleaning so much easier. I absolutely do not like chemical, bleach smell in our house ever! It's bad on my family's allergies and

Bathroom Cleaning Essentials

Of course, the one bathroom cleaning product I can't live without is Mrs. Meyer's tub & tile cleaner. I used to hate cleaning our tub and shower because the fumes from traditional cleaners always gave me a headache. At the same time, I'm not a fan of scrubbing, so I need a cleaner that really works. Mrs. Meyer’s tub & tile checks all the boxes! It works so well on our hard water buildup, plus it smells amazing.

Paired with effective natural cleaners, the right tools are a game changer for your bathroom cleaning. I never thought of sponges as a bathroom cleaning necessity until I started using these Grove Collaborative walnut scrubber sponges. The scouring side is made from crushed walnuts and is great for cleaning grout, while the soft side is perfect for wiping down sinks and shower glass. I always keep a couple of these in my cleaning kit.

Essential Kitchen Cleaning

Essential Kitchen Cleaning

I LOVE my new kitchen, but I'm going to be completely honest, it's more work to keep this kitchen clean than my old kitchen! I think it's a combo of surfaces that need cleaning, new pots and pans with different care, and the fact that I actually care that it looks spotless most of the time!

How to Organize Cords Easily

Living in the 21st century means we have cords, lots and lots of cords. Cords are messy, very messy! You know there are cords by the couch, next to the bed, in the kitchen, in the office, behind the TV - you know, everywhere! So, I consider myself somewhat of an expert in this area now, especially having a husband in the IT field - yes, cords and more cords. My husband also runs the sound system at our church and he's become quite meticulous about how to keep cords out of the way and from view, so I've learned things from him too. I'm going to give you my solutions and some of the basic things you need to keep around your house to keep up with the web of cords - cause I like them hidden!

Organized Potty Training

This is written by my talented assistant, Tiffany, who was blessed with a surprise little one 2 years ago. Please feel free to pin and share with other young Mommies that have little ones and are getting ready to potty train because she's got some brilliant ideas.

Well, its time.  Our 4th little blessing has finally turned 2 and its time to ditch the diapers!  I thought I was done with such things 10 years ago when our third daughter was potty trained.  I had pushed the majority of the memories about this not-so-fun Mommy task out of my mind and strode forward with the happy anticipation that I was now a Mom of "big kids."

Organized Potty Training :: OrganizingMadeFun.com

In God's providence I got to do it again, and this time I have the blessing of the confidence and patience that comes with being an "older mom" who's done it before.   So here are my tips from this latest potty training adventure to help you get organized for potty training your little one.

Small Bathroom Storage Solution

Having a small space poses problems for most. But, for me, I look at it like a challenge! We have this one teeny tiny bathroom! It's great because it has a shower, a toilet, AND a sink. But, it's tiny and there's not much storage in there. It's located near our back door so it's great for our guests who come over to use that restroom, but we also like to have it for overnight guests to use, as it's a spare bathroom for us. So I came up with a great storage solution!

Beauty Products Storage and Expiration Dates Printable

My sweet friend, Leanne, of Organize and Decorate Everything, is not only an amazingly organized and creative blogger, but is genuinely kind hearted and fun to be around! I have known Leanne for several years and she has been gracious enough to share her tips on beauty product storage with you today.

A lot of times we forget to clean out our make-up and continue buying more and more, adding it to our ever growing stash. I'm saying this from personal experience. A few years ago I had way too many beauty products, some I had never used and some that had been expired for years. Once I cleaned out my stash I vowed to keep it that way. I have a few things I do to keep my beauty products in check so I'm not wasting money and space. So today we're going to talk about Beauty Products Storage and Expiration Dates.

A "New" Bathroom in the Small Space

We had a bunch of company stay with us a few weeks ago. Annually we house pastors from around the country at our home to stay while they attend a local conference. This year we had 9 pastors stay with us. We even borrowed another RV/motorhome from my sister in law and housed some more of them so they'd be comfortable. We kept them all over the house and outside in the motorhomes. We want them to be comfortable. We had another visitor stay overnight with us right after they left, too. It was a blessing to have the motorhome as a guest house for each visitor. My goal has been to make it feel less like an RV and more like a small cottage. So, I showed you the little kitchen update I did last week and today I'm showing you another new small space update - the bathroom!
