A few weeks ago I told you that we poured a concrete pad in our backyard where the kids had their playset. We have been planning on purchasing our own RV since we were able to use my husband's sister's RV when they moved across the country recently. It was a great chance to see if we would really like to have one. And after using it for six months, we decided we definitely wanted one for ourselves!
But, if we were going to get an RV we really wanted to have it here at our house so it would be used by guests, as well as used for vacation. We wanted a second home that would serve others. {picture above is at the dealership where we purchased our used RV}.
So, we looked and looked....and searched the searched. We found an awesome great deal on a 2000 Winnebago with only 17,000 miles AND the dealer had fixed up the interior so that it looks brand NEW. I wanted to show you some of it...and share my plans to make that beige, "everyone will love it" neutral interior into something that has more personality and is cozy as a guest house.
Here is the outside - it has new decals put on it so it looks really nice. Trust me, my hubby is ALL about the engine and the important stuff, so the RV is in GREAT running condition, too.
Here is the entrance, the kitchen and the living area {these are the dealer pictures because I got to work so fast on doing stuff that I didn't take my own pictures} - can you believe this is a 15 year old RV?
This is looking forward with seats set up. They reupholstered much of the interior and put in new flooring so it looks {and smells} brand new.
Here is the kitchen and banquette across from there -- the sofa and the banquette both make into beds for the kids to sleep in.
This the bathroom and the hallway looking forward {from the "master bedroom"} and the kids' closet.
This is the master bedroom. It has a queen sized bed - which is what we normally sleep in - and a vanity and two side closets. It's pretty nice for camping -- which, let me be honest, I'm no camper! I'm totally a glamper and know it! I look forward to vacations where my husband can relax, especially. He seems to be so happy when we're camping in the RV and that makes me happy.
But, let's be honest, I'm a decorator/organizer at heart, so I have plans. Here is my little board of ideas that I've started coming up. I even have a color scheme. I have all kinds of small space organizing ideas, too! I'll keep you filled in on ideas...that you can use for your own small space or big space!
If you'd like to see more ideas I have - follow my "If I Had a Camper" pinterest board. Follow me on Instagram where I share some of the fun ideas I'm currently working for our "new to us" motorhome.
I also want to apologize for having no place to comment right now...unfortunately, it's taking longer than I expected to fix this dilemma after my new redesign. Feel free to leave me a comment via email becky@organizingmadefun.com.
