Today is Day #11 of 31 days of spontaneous organizing! It's time for another kitchen organizing challenge and another drawer! We're going to work on your fridge drawers and get those neat and organized!
My suggestions for this is to pull the drawers out altogether. Check for sticky, yucky messes. I think it's easier to wipe clean with a warm/hot washcloth or stick in the sink with hot water. If it's a huge drawer, just leave it in and use a hot washcloth to get grime and stickies off.
Decide what each use of each drawer is going to be. If you have no drawers, you are done! But, I have several - my two inside my fridge that I use for fruits and veggies - I keep them separate. I usually buy fruit weekly at the local farmer's market so they seem to hold all my fruit and veggies fine.
I also have a very special drawer in my fridge that I call the snack drawer. My old fridge didn't have this so I organized it to hold each item I put in there - using clear fridge organizing bins and dollar store containers, too.
In this fridge, above, she made use of her drawer and then some for her fruits and veggies.
And here she's got several drawers all with a purpose. I believe that organizing your fridge with a purpose for as many compartments and areas can help you keep better track of what you are running low on and help you making your grocery list and menus. You won't "lose" track of food as easily when it's got a purposeful place. I understand that sometimes you get an overloaded fridge when company comes, a night full of leftovers or after a shopping trip, but starting this will help you keep up with it better.
