Outdoor Bar Cart Makeover

It mustn't be just me, because I see the bar cart is getting to be quite popular lately - like they were 40 or 50 years ago! I really wanted to find a bar cart, but wanted a vintage one that I could update and make over. We hunted all over the place, looking in thrift store after consignment store after antique store looking for something that would work. I found all kinds of bar carts - metal, plastic, big, small, short, tall. But, I had one in my mind and couldn't get that one out of my head!

Here is the bar cart I found in a consignment store along the central coast of California while shopping with my mom and daughter. I was able to talk down the price, too! It's metal with a glass top and I really loved the lines and details. I just didn't like the color so I planned to spray paint it.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to paint it gold or navy blue! Our outdoor patio has a lot of navy and red to match our house, but the gold is classy and elegant!

My final choice was the gold! It is SO PRETTY! The gold really WAS the best choice and looks so elegant!

It makes lovely cart outside for my deck and our parties.

Let's take one last look!

Yep, I made the right choice! What do you think?

  1. as usual I like it. and what fun to find something that looks so classy on budget ! I have to admit that lately we have been taking a lot more things to the thrift stores than purchasing. Perhaps after we get a clean slate and know what we really want or need we will be on the other end. I just hope i do not think i need to buy back any of our donations. we have been pretty severe in our downsizing.
