A couple of weeks ago, I shared my #cupboardconfessions with MasterBrand Cabinets as my sponsor and a chance to win a $300 Visa Gift Card! Today, I'm going to share some tips for keeping a large utensil drawer organized, a video of how I organized mine, and the winner of that $300 Visa Gift Card! Do you have a drawer in your kitchen that is a MESS? Maybe it looks a little like this?
OK, so it happens. Sometimes we don't intend for it to become a mess, but it does. We also wind up with WAY too many utensils that we either don't really need or that rarely get used! It's important that you evaluate ALL the utensils you have. If you have something that can function in two ways - choose to keep that over something with one function.
Go through all your large utensils and set apart a "give away", "toss", or "keep" pile. Make sure you take out all the utensils and the drawer is empty.
You can see above, I used a Decora Cabinetry Adjustable Drawer Organizer to get all the utensils organized and put in their place. Once the organizer is in, you can put back all the necessary utensils.
I've made a fun video for you to see the whole process!
The hardest part is getting rid of things - the next hardest part is just keeping it that way! When looking at purchasing anything ask yourself these questions:
1. Do you already have something that does the same function?
2. Are you're willing to give up something that you currently have?
3. Is that item worn out or broken?
When you think through each drawer like this, you can conquer your clutter a little at a time.
