31 Days of Spontaneous Organizing - Day #17: Family/Living Room {cupboards}

Today is Day #17 of 31 days of spontaneous organizing! What place can get out of control? Your family living area, that's one place, for sure! Today, just take a portion of the family room to quickly organize - any part of the room with cupboards or places that are closed up.

I've got a few great ideas for organizing the cupboards or closed up places in your family room! Since this is a family area, may I remind you to make sure to make everyone help you keep it up - go HERE to read more about that. If you have messy cords, use zip ties or velcro ties or whatever you have to neatly conceal them.

Here is a good example of how to tame those cords inside {or outside} your cabinet or cupboard in your family living area.

Organizing Made Fun

I organized the kids gaming stuff in a cupboard but it didn't have a shelf, so I used cup hooks and some inexpensive baskets to hold the gaming things.

I also had a game cupboard, at one point, and organized it and then took pictures of the contents, then taped a picture to the back of the door so the kids knew how to put everything back the same way.

Later on I turned the game cupboard into a craft cupboard and now it's also super organized and in our family room. These are all ideas to help you get those spaces in your family/living room cleaned up. If you have a play room, you can use this chance to clean that up instead or also. But, let's not spend too long. Throw all paper away that isn't important, move out whatever doesn't belong in this room - kids need to put away their things daily - and be sure to check under your couch and in the couch cushions for "surprises" that may be there!
