Totally and finally done with the kitchen...

OK...so maybe not totally done because you know that nothing is really ever done around here!  But, remember this picture where I pointed out how I really wanted to get that floor finished?

Well, I'm happy to say, it's done!  You know, it's that little bit to finish up that makes things just look better.  Honestly...I still have to prime and paint the ceiling we scraped in the dining area and the kitchen {so technically it's not done} but that's something that I can do myself :)

Here is a look at some more of the process...

That's the varathane drying.  It's a 14 foot long, 8 inch wide plank of oak.  Amazingly it fit all the way across and was milled specifically to fit our floor.  Nope, hubby didn't do that one. But, our good friend, Wes, did!  It looks spectacular.  I had a deadline to get it done before Christmas - since we were having lots of "older" folks and wanted that area to be safe and purdy - and he made it! Oh, and I painted all our chairs in the dining area black!  It's super nice!

More projects coming next week!  Happy New Year!  I hope you are resolving to get more organized this year!  There will be lots of organizing inspiration.  If you have a project you organized, I'd love to see it and share it here, too!

If you'd like to see the whole kitchen process, check THIS out!
