31 Days of Spontaneous Organizing - Day #30: Car/Van Front and middle

Today is Day #30 of 31 days of spontaneous organizing! Your mini-challenge for today is the front of your car or van! And here you thought we'd only work on your home!

Here are a couple of ideas and tips for when you organize the front of your car or van. Today we'll specifically deal with the glove box, center console, and keeping the front driver and passenger seats clean and organized.

I love having a van, but I'm a stickler on it staying clean. I have "rules" for those who come into it - particularly children. I bought rubber floor mats when the van was first new and so the carpet under is spotless now! In the glove box, clear out all your papers and trash that shouldn't be there. Be sure to come up with some type of car trash can. I have mine hanging from the "purse hook" in my van. Each time we get gas, we empty all the trash cans in the van {we have two}. Keep important things only in your glove box: proof of insurance, registration, and any other important papers you may need while traveling.

The center console should also keep a small amount of things - pen and paper, extra chargers, owner's manual, extra batteries {if you have headphones for a DVD player}. If you frequently keep receipts in your car, consider using a coupon organizer or a simple envelope to keep them tidy and organized.

Here is a great idea if you have a smaller car and no place to put your purse when you have a passenger with you. Another organizer told me about this {I really need to go and get one}, it's called a car cache. You can read more about it HERE. It holds your purse between the seats.
