Family room peek...

Just a peek at our ever evolving home:  our family room.

Love this room.  We spend a lot of time in here.  This is what it looked like when we bought it four years ago {before we moved in}.

Don't you love the wood paneling?

And how about those shelves with gold brackets and amber-colored {non-opening} windows?

How about those tiled floors?  Lovely, huh?

I couldn't wait to get my hands on those ugly paneled walls.  I painted those a lovely, calm blue.  I set out to make the room feel like you were at a beach cottage.

Last Christmas, my sweet hubby and Dad put in a new floating floor - engineered hard wood.  It is SO beautiful!  I also painted all the cupboards white {I had been wanting to do this for years}.  Hubby got a new TV last year, too.  Notice that I covered up the yellow, coke-bottle, don't-open windows with sheers on a spring rod.

We FINALLY got real-working windows in our family room!!  Yippee!  Now we actually have a cross-breeze...it's a small thing, but boy is it super!

Did I mention that I painted that ceiling too?  Boy was that a doozy of a job - a total of TWENTY hours and a LOT of paint!  Glad it's done and it makes the whole room seem taller and brighter.

I even moved our old kitchen table in the corner of the family room!  It's such a fun room!
