You love to decorate for the holidays but because your
decorations are disorganized, it’s not as much fun as it used to be. Your collection of decorations has grown with
time and may have become unmanageable and disorganized.

Decluttering Your Home
Every year I attend a few blog conferences, where I meet so many of the bloggers and people that I've admired and seen their work. A few years ago, I had been in contact, via Twitter and other professional organizer, with Geralin Thomas. You may or may not recognize her name, but Geralin is one of the professional organizers on the A&E show "Hoarders" and has an amazing ability to help people who are in absolute desperation to get their things organized and decluttered - but more than the average clutter bug! Well, I met her, and she and I hit it off! I adore her - she is so sweet and kind - and patient! She has written the most amazing book and I can't wait to share it with you...

Organized Closet Trends
Closets are an essential that we all need and have. Having an organized closet is even more important since, of course, we want to keep organized - and have fun too! I was asked by The Container Store and Zillow Digs to share some amazing and fun closet trends with you at one of my favorite places to shop for all things organized - The Container Store! I currently own FOUR closet organizers that I purchased at The Container Store - one each year the first few years we lived in our current home - all our closets that are unique and totally different uses. So, I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on what it takes to have an organized closet, plus being a little trendy too! {Be sure to click over for a chance to learn how to win a $5000 closet makeover - YES, $5000 closet makeover!!!}.
I'm going to show you two different closets in our home and how I've updated them to be "on trend" and kick them up a notch! The first is my daughter's closet and the other is my master closet.

How to Keep Your Kitchen Counters Decluttered - for GOOD!
You’ve cleared the clutter off your kitchen counters and before you know it the surfaces are covered once again. The kitchen is a busy area of our home and
easily cluttered….even if you don’t cook. Their flat spaces are inviting places
to dump our stuff as we enter our home or pass thru the kitchen.

Negotiating with Kids for a Clutter Free Home
Are you wondering why I would negotiate with my kids to get them to do something? Well, hang on and hear me out. You see, I have been instilling into my kids for as long as they were able to understand that have clutter around isn't good. Part of it is that I just don't like clutter since it distracts me. Part of it is that I don't want them to hold tightly to earthly things. I believe that earthly positions are not of high value - people are. So, I want them to learn young to let go of things, BUT to also be responsible with what they have and put it away, where it belongs.

How Does HOARDING affect you?
Let me be honest, I have not broached the subject of hoarding before because I'm honestly not an expert! I have no idea what to tell people, have no patience for not being able to declutter...it's the truth. But, I know it affects many people and I know that it can consume families with despair and hopelessness. So, I asked my professional organizer contributor, Jill, to talk about Hoarding since she has much more experience with that than I so. I hope you are encouraged and that you can get help if this is something you or a family member or close friend are struggling with.

How to Handle Paper Clutter
Today, I'm so excited to bring you a guest post from a sweet lady. Mary is a professional organizer and mother of four. She loves to organize, create, decorate and then blog about it at MaryOrganizes. Mary doesn't chase after perfection, her goals are a healthy home and happy life. She has amazing organizing skills and is here to help me out with all my back and forth traveling I've been doing. Now..let's handle that paper clutter before it controls us!
If paper is your problem, you are not alone!
Laundry and Paper are the monsters of homemaking and are more similar than you realize. A good strategy for laundry maintenance can teach you a lot about how to solve your paper problem.
Your dirty clothes go in a hamper until its time to wash it. It would be a waste of time and energy to wash each piece of laundry one at a time as it becomes dirty. I use my inbox as my paper hamper and I save time dealing similar types of papers (or loads) at the same time.

The Hidden Cost of Clutter
I am going to be traveling quite a bit in the next few weeks. To help me fill in while I'm busy, I've got some amazing organizing bloggers who will fill in here and there...like seriously amazing! If you'd like to see what I'm up to, head over to Instagram and follow me there. I'll be heading to a blog conference this week and then more fun after that...
Hi Organizing Made Fun readers! I'm Hilda and I blog over at From Overwhelmed To Organized. I love sharing tips to help overwhelmed people declutter and organize their homes.
Thanks for having me here Becky! I'm excited to share about one of my favorite topics... decluttering! Do you have clutter in your home? Have you been wanting to declutter but just haven't been motivated enough to get started? Well I'm hoping today's post will give you a little push towards purging some things from your home!
Did you know that your clutter is costing you money all the time? There are some obvious ways... like making late payment charges due to overdue bills you couldn't find... or re-purchasing items that you already have but can't find when you need them. But clutter also has costs associated with it in other ways that you may not think of.

Dealing with Junk Mail
Junk mail is a source of stress for many of us. My niece hadn’t even moved into their new home, yet she was
buried under an onslaught of junk mail…a full month before moving in! She sent me these photos.Insert photos somewhere please….Junk mail certainly wastes a lot of our natural resources and
clutters up our personal and mental space.Where does it come from and why is there so much of it?
